In reply to:  EE Signal & Coverage Problems: EE have cut back their 3G network in the UK now 4G is launched

  • I moved from O2 to EE last November when my iPhone became due for an upgrade to 5S. I chose EE because my wife’s Orange phone had worked fine before and after the merger. Everything was OK until Monday 27 January when both our phones showed no signal. In and around my home I am unable to make or receive calls. Texts don’t work either. When I get around 50 yards or more from home the service is generally OK, although it does drop out every now and then. The response of EE to my complaints has been really poor. After a few days they acknowledged having problems in the area – I’m in Cottingham, near Hull – but often since then they have denied all knowledge of problems. I now know that some friends who live about 100 yards away have had a similar experience, with four phones failing on the same day as ours and no action taken by EE to fix the problem. The lack of service is causing big problems. I am in the bizarre position where I work from home yet now have to go out to coffee shops to make calls to clients! If the kids want to let us know they’re going to be late home from school they have to call or text our mobiles and our land line. But my biggest concern through all of this is the realisation that EE couldn’t care less and I may be stuck with them for a long time yet.
